[Bug 107636] Re: wifi adapter not resumed after hibernate

2009-05-13 Thread Séverin Lemaignan
Hello! Thanks for the commitment!
I, of course, migrated to iwl since a couple of Ubuntu version.

The suspend and resume still doesn't work with Jaunty, but we can
definitely close this bug report :-)

[Bug 107636] Re: wifi adapter not resumed after hibernate

2009-05-12 Thread Andres Mujica
Séverin, i'm closing this bug report ass Won't Fix, mainly because the
IPW3945 module was deprecated by upstream some time ago
(http://ipw3945.sourceforge.net/)

So if your suspend/hibernate problem is caused by the ipw3945, or if
you're still using ipw3945 please migrate your system to iwl3945.
Check this page for reference (take into account is a bit old, so it
doesn't apply completely but you can use it as a guide).

Also if you're still having trouble with suspend resume, please check
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/SuspendResumeTesting/Feedback and
look for your test results for your model. If not there, please check
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/SuspendResumeTesting and open a new
bug as described there.

Thanks in advance !!

[Bug 107636] Re: wifi adapter not resumed after hibernate

2009-01-29 Thread Leann Ogasawara
Hi Séverin Lemaignan,

Thanks for the response. Sorry to hear the issue has become a bit worse
:( Would you be willing to test the latest pre-release of Jaunty 9.04
(currently Alpha3) - http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/ . It
contains a newer 2.6.28 based kernel. You should be able to at least
test suspend (not hibernate) via a LiveCD. Thanks.

[Bug 107636] Re: wifi adapter not resumed after hibernate

2009-01-20 Thread Leann Ogasawara
touareger, care to open a new bug report? The reason I say this is
because you have a different wireless card than the original bug
reporter. Even though you may be experiencing the same issue, it really
is likely hardware specific.

Séverin Lemaignan, since you are the original bug reporter, can you
comment if this is still an issue with Intrepid Ibex 8.10? Thanks.

Actually Suspend and Hibernate just do not work on my laptop with

[Bug 107636] Re: wifi adapter not resumed after hibernate

2009-01-07 Thread touareger
As of today, Jan 7, 2009, I am having the same issue: wireless adapter
is undetected after resume from hibernate, the only workaround for me is
reboot; however, it is odd that it only happens in my desktop with USB
wireless adapter (linksys WUSB54G). My laptop pc using Intel internal
wifi card is completely fine.

[Bug 107636] Re: wifi adapter not resumed after hibernate

2008-08-28 Thread Leann Ogasawara
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

1) If you are comfortable installing packages on your own, the linux-
image-2.6.27-* package is currently available for you to install and
test.

--or--

2) The upcoming Alpha5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 will contain this newer
2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4.
Please watch http://www.ubuntu.com/testing for Alpha5 to be announced.
You should then be able to test via a LiveCD.

Please let us know immediately if this newer 2.6.27 kernel resolves the
bug reported here or if the issue remains. More importantly, please
open a new bug report for each new bug/regression introduced by the
2.6.27 kernel and tag the bug report with 'linux-2.6.27'. Also, please
specifically note if the issue does or does not appear in the 2.6.26
kernel. Thanks again, we really appreicate your help and feedback.

[Bug 107636] Re: wifi adapter not resumed after hibernate

2007-05-08 Thread mrben
I'm running a stock Feisty install on am IBM Thinkpad T41, with an
atheros-based wifi card, and I have exactly the same problem, although
for me a reboot works fine.

After hibernation the wifi seems to be trying to connect but failing,
making me think this might be a network-manager problem?

[Bug 107636] Re: wifi adapter not resumed after hibernate

2007-05-01 Thread Dave MacLeod
I'm getting the same problem on my Asus S6F laptop, with one significant
difference. Mine isn't fixed by a reboot. The only way I have been able
to resolve this is to reboot from a 6.10 live CD and then reboot back
into 7.04.

The output from uname -a is Linux archiegemmill 2.6.20-15-generic #2
SMP Sun Apr 15 07:36:31 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

I have attached the output of lspci --vvnn and dmesg, taken from

1) before the hibernate,
2) after the hibernate,
3) after a reboot
4) after a reboot with the 6.10 live CD and then reboot into 7.04

Don't hesitate to let me know if there is more information I can provide
to help get to the bottom of this.

Regards,

Dave MacLeod

[Bug 107636] Re: wifi adapter not resumed after hibernate

2007-04-19 Thread Brian Murray
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description doesn't yet
have enough information.
Please include the following additional information, if you have not already
done so (please pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by
the Ubuntu Kernel Team:
1. Please include the output of the command 'uname -a' in your next response.
It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version
you're running, as well as the CPU architecture.
2. Please run the command 'dmesg dmesg.log' and attach the resulting file
'dmesg.log' to this bug report.
3. Please run the command 'sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log' and attach the
resulting file 'lspci-vvnn.log' to this bug report.
For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-related bug
reports is available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies . Thanks
in advance!
