Bug not completely fixed, when switching primary and secondary colors in
case of Vertical and Horizontal gradient, one of the colour still is
black. Clicking the --- arrow makes both the colours appear black.

Unable to set solid colors and gradients as desktop background in
I just installed the nightly build package on 13.04 AMD-64. Solid
backgrounds and gradients are fixed, HOWEVER, the background still goes
black when you select a gradient, then click the -- icon between the
two colors to flip them. Please investigate and consider re-opening
this.

Johnny is correct, the pcolor scolor switcher will rewrite to RGB, seen in
the new 'fixed' 13.10 g-c-c-u package
(users have to then reselect their chosen colors directly

Unable to set solid colors and gradients as
I had the same problem.
It seems that when I choose a color in the control panel it writes something
like:
rgb(78,154,6) in the primary color field of the scheme
org.gnome.desktop.background
Changing this by any hexdecimal number fix the problem.
It is worth to be mentionned that I installed
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

I have the same issue on my systems. Both are 64-bit running 13.04.
