[Bug 1209047] Re: SD Card not loading in Ubuntu 13.04
Update on this issue. I have noticed that after updating system files the SD Card works until a reboot. There were updates I installed tonight and after restarting to complete the updates, the SD Card was available to me. I used GParted to partition and format the SD Card and restarted again only to no long see the SD card. it had loaded as /dev/mmcblk0p1. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1209047 Title: SD Card not loading in Ubuntu 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1209047/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1209047] Re: SD Card not loading in Ubuntu 13.04
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.11 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance. [Bug 1209047] Re: SD Card not loading in Ubuntu 13.04
I attempted the kernel upgrade, but it did not complete successfully. I'm not sure what I did wrong, as I followed the instructions, but apparently it doesn't like my proprietary drivers for my video i have installed. That was what errored out. Everything else seemed to pass, so I had hoped that it meant just having to reinstall the drivers, but after reboot, I lost all functionallity of my desktop. If you could provide additional information on how to properly update the kernel, I would be willing to try again. But I would like to know how to back out of the update as well (after reboot).
Please note, as a work around, I copied all of the missing files direct from the zipped kernel as noted in https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/233555. This, however is not a long term solution in my opinion, only a way to solve a problem as a work around. Please look into this further for future updates/releases. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1209047 Title: SD Card not loading in Ubuntu 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1209047/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1209047] Re: SD Card not loading in Ubuntu 13.04
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1209047/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.
