[Bug 124922] Re: Video plays very slow using gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
I got slow playback with gstreamer until I changed some gstreamer options (this is a different problem, that others may have too). $ gstreamer-properties = Video Output : autodetect -- Video plays very slow using gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124922 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Same problem with me. The mix are firefox, compiz and ati driver. [Bug 124922] Re: Video plays very slow using gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
this problem very much still exist. Happen basically everytime I use Firefox and totem/exaile at the same time. [Bug 124922] Re: Video plays very slow using gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
i see the exact same problem, and i noticed that it seems to happen most often when i have a web page open in firefox that has some sort of flash video. i found that if i close totem and firefox, then restart totem to watch the video, the problem often goes away without a reboot. -- Video plays very slow using gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124922 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 124922] Re: Video plays very slow using gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
I have the same problem - Totem has no sound and plays incredibly slow - frame by frame - but if I reboot, Totem seems to work fine and the file plays as it should (the file as in AVI files). Also, this could be unrelated, but I suspect not - after successfully watching an AVI file where the speed and sound happen as they should with Totem, webpages will have video and no sound - NYT homepage for example. Rebooting also fixes this. This could be a different bug but I kinda doubt it. -- Video plays very slow using gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/124922 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The same for me. Everything was fine until I tried to open an .mkv file. Turning Compiz Fusion off solved the slowness. I also had the same issue, Video is very slow in Totem and also no audio. Rhythmbox also didn't play the audio files. But strangely, reboot fixed the isssue !!! I can confirm this problem even without hibernation or suspend on a dell 1420n. In MPlayer the video plays fine, but in totem in crawls. Note also that the problem is NOT consistent. Sometimes a reboot fixes it. Also no problems with gxine or vlc. [Bug 124922] Re: Video plays very slow using gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
As far as I have investigated, the bug is not primarily connected to the gstreamer-.10-ffmpeg package. The systems performs the same with ffmpeg package installed. So. The bug is occured when I send my laptop to the sleep mode (suspend mode). Hibernation mode still not tested. Reinstalling the packages doesn't work to make the video run better - only the deINSTALL and then INSTALL order may help. After that all is working ok, until next sleeping of the machine. Even reboot BEFORE sleep mode doesn't affect the video playback rate. And reboot AFTER sleep mode also have no positive affect to fix the problem. The problem occurs BOTH with ffmpeg and gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg packages (and I may suppose, that with other video codecs too...) and with ALL (I guess, still tested only 3) video players. Why does the sleep mode distort the video codec??? Is it only Xubuntu/IBM TP/Suspend mode/Video problem/kernel? Or some mixture. If anyone direct me, how to test it further, I will surely do. P.S. I ask the moderator to link my two messages and to replace them into another bug category.
