yes,
it affects me also. I have installed skype in ubuntu 14.04 and when I use my
logitech webcam for a video call, ubuntu freezes and I can no longer see dash
or any panel (probably x crashes). I don't have installed any additional
drivers and skype was working ok until ubuntu 13.10 so there

follow up on jack detection.
I've opened git link and it looks like the fix is in 3.12 kernel, but I'm
running default ubuntu 3.11 kernel, not sure if that fix was backported by
kernel devs/ubuntu kernel team into 3.11. Anyways 14.04 is almost here, and it
would run 3.13 kernel.
