Apologies for delay, I wanted to recreate initial conditions as best as possible but with newer kernel (Linux 111 3.19.0-031900rc7-generic). Unfortunately, that potential WORKAROUND does not appear to help address the fan noise level. The only thing I note is that System Monitor CPU History is
