For me it didn't. Maybe it has to do with my 6.10 installation being on another disk ? I suppose somebody with a spare machine could simulate that : Install 6.10 on a first disk Install 7.10 on the second disk. -- New installation doesn't import old grub settings

My installation was detected! The installer proposed to import certain documents, etc. ... . It's a shame these grub settings are overwritten. What with those who run multiple OSses ? I know Ubuntu rules them all, yet... ;-) -- New installation doesn't import old grub settings

Grub settings were not overwritten; rather, Ubuntu's bootloader was made default. You could restore old grub settings, from the Live CD, however, this will overwrite Ubuntu's settings. If you want to add your edgy installation as a boot option, then you've just got to mount the drive it is
