[Bug 1718850] Re: System extensions appear off by default

2017-10-23 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I filed https://bugzilla.gnome.org/783104 months ago requesting the
ability to disable "system" (enabled by the GNOME Shell mode)
extensions, but the bug was closed. :(

Are you going to work on it?

If not, this is Won't Fix in Launchpad.

[Bug 1718850] Re: System extensions appear off by default

2017-09-27 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Daniel, yes the extensions that are part of GNOME Classic (and installed
as part of gnome-shell-extensions) have the same problem.

Iain, I'm reopening the gnome-shell part of this bug since I believe
this bug is actually in gnome-shell and not gnome-tweak-tool (see
comment 2). My understanding is that you can drop the rls-aa-incoming
tag if this issue is not a priority for the Desktop Team right now.

Just to be clear, the desktop team does not maintain Tweaks, so the rls-
aa-incoming tag is not for us.

Do you mean classic or default? Because the gnome-classic session is
part of package 'gnome-shell-extensions', not installed by default :)

I wonder if they appear off because we don't have package 'gnome-shell-

[Bug 1718850] Re: System extensions appear off by default

2017-09-22 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1718850] Re: System extensions appear off by default

2017-09-22 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I believe this is actually a gnome-shell bug since we get the same behavior with
gnome-shell-extension-prefs

These gnome-shell "mode" extensions are always on in that mode and can't
be disabled so it would be nice if both g-s-extension-prefs and Tweaks
would show that.
