I'm able to reproduce this on a Focal 5.4 kernel by sending data to a Pi
via a USB/serial adapter. I'm not able to reproduce this with the
Raspberry Pi OS running a 5.4 kernel. I recompiled the Raspi OS kernel
using the Ubuntu config and *now* I can reproduce it. It seems it's a
config option diffe

doesn't contain any of the errors mentioned above.
