[Bug 1880536] Re: HDMI port is not working
More simply, the kernel version you have (from Ubuntu 18.04) is too old to support such new hardware. Instead you need Ubuntu 18.04.4 or Ubuntu 20.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1880536 Title: HDMI port is not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1880536/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1880536] Re: HDMI port is not working
If you have the AMD Radeon option then it's likely the HDMI port is wired to that. But that GPU is also likely turned off by default so you will also be missing the HDMI port option. To fix that please try checking your BIOS and turn on both GPUs. But there's a second problem here which seems more likely... The kernel doesn't seem to recognise your very new Intel GPU. So even if the laptop only has a single GPU the HDMI port would be missing :) To fix that please install either: * https://releases.ubuntu.com/20.04/ or * https://releases.ubuntu.com/18.04.4/ ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1880536 Title: HDMI port is not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1880536/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
