I can confirm this too. I had the same problem when running 7.10.
Yesterday I upgraded to Hardy beta and still have the issue. I just
tried deleting ~/.cache/tracker this morning to see if rebuilding the
index might help -- it did not. This is what I observe:
$ tracker-search test
no results
$
I'd like to amend my last post. I think I tested the search tool
*before* trackerd had actually finished rebuilding its index. Since it
completed the process I haven't had any problems. Can anyone else
confirm if deleting the index and waiting for it to be completely
rebuilt fixes this problem?
I'm getting this error in the terminal window after restarting trackerd.
** (trackerd:31059): CRITICAL **: tracker_indexer_get_hits: assertion
`query-words' failed
After this error, I get only partial results, and then no results. The
deskbar crashes I've been experiencing. seem at least
** (trackerd:31703): CRITICAL **: tracker_get_hit_counts: assertion
`query-words' failed
after restarting trackerd and attempting a keyword search via tracker
indexer itself. No search results.
as clarification, the previous error message was encountered after
attempting a search via Deskbar.

You received this bug notification because
I don't have #1 or #2, so then it'd have to be #3 of those, and I do use
suspend/resume a lot too.
I'm however quite sure that tracker can stop answering during a session
with no suspend involved, at least that I've killed it, got it to work,
and then a bit later it stopped again.
The two bugs
I can confirm this on 7.10 w/latest. Might be a duplicate of bug
#163544, where I originally posted. If not, I'm posting here, too :-)
It was working fine, and then suddenly stopped returning any results
whatsoever. Killall trackerd and restarting the process via terminal
restored
