Try nudging the volume for Master and PCM by just a little bit. Make sure the volume controls change, this seems to force the volume to be synced to hw. If that doesn't work, try nudging all volume controls. Somehow, on my Thinkpad, I have to do this in 30% of the cases after a suspend. HTH Jonath

OK, here is what I've found: * After a reboot, there is a /usr/bin/pulseaudio process running under my user name. It is apparently not running as a daemon, because my configuration had "daemonize = no" in it (as reported by pulseauido --dump-conf). * After suspend/restart, this process is still

On Bug #223061, someone asked me to try /etc/init.d/alsa-utils reset -- but thsi had no effect on my problem. Here's what I did: 1. Reboot 2. Play the "ubuntu Sax.ogg" example file (which came with Ubuntu) to verify that sound is working. 3. Suspend using the Gnome desktop menu item. 4. Restart b
