Martin - given you already have a Python intrepreter, couldn't you just
import the function you need from lsb_release itself and call that?
Saves firing up another.

This is actually wontfix in jockey. We do need to know OS vendor and
version. Falling back to reading /etc/lsb-release would be faster, but
use a non-standardized interface. What should *really* happen is to
