OK, i go to :
home folder, then view and show hidden files, when it re populates i see a
folder called .openoffice.org2.
i open the file
.openoffice.org2/user/registry/data/org/openoffice/Setup.xcu
and i delete it and then i re open Calc and the bug is fixed !

Do the Maximize and Minimize buttons only disappear after you disable Compiz?
No before and after i disable Compiz , they have always disapeared .
I can't leave the application Calc by clicking on the cross above to the
right, i must do: file/ leave.
How are you disabling Compiz?
I have Ubuntu

When i move the mouse , Calc becomes unstable with shorts black screens .I
had to stop the compiz Fusion effects .But the 2 buttons Maximize and
Minimize never appears again .
- I have UBUNTU 8.10 .
+ I have UBUNTU 8.04 .
Thank you for reporting this bug. Do the Maximize and Minimize buttons
only disappear after you disable Compiz? If so, it looks like Metacity
is not starting up. How are you disabling Compiz? One thing you can try
is typing 'metacity --replace' in a terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal).
