This worked for me too. I've been having Evolution freeze regularly for about 6 months, finally found this thread. Edit/Plugins disable Templates, restarted Evolution, solved it. Thanks for xtrip for the tip. I checked my plugins, and found out that after disabling templates plugin, evolution seemed to work again. Thank you, xtrip, you made my day! The bug had been bugging me for over a year. Hi, I' v experienced the same thing with an evolution 2.28.0 and 2.26.1 (ubuntu karmic / kde 4.3.2) but not at start of it's usage. By deduction i was thinking of disabling all plugins, and after sorting plugins by enabling them one after one i found that was the models plugin make evolution crash. In French language it's named Modèles Error message from console when right-clicking and models plugin enable: camel:ERROR:camel-mime-message.c:430:camel_mime_message_get_subject: assertion failed: (mime_message) Abandon (core dumped) I can't send an error report cause of my setup ... this is the second time you talk about /var/crash, there is nothing in that when the bug happens. so provide us with a detailed way of creating a crash report (if it is a crash which I doubt because otherwise there would be a warning of crash report in Ubuntu.
