And the translation for qu_EC in qu_EC would be Kichwa.

I guess qu_EC or qvi_EC (Quichua Imbabura, Ecuador) will be the correct
 code to use.

The language spoken by about 2-3 million natives in Ecuador is Kichwa, not
 Quechua.

I've made a working dictionary for Kichwa but it's kind of hard adding it
since the language is not on the list...

could we open a qui / qi_EC language?

[Bug 330689] Re: New language: Kichwa

2009-02-18 Thread Arno Teigseth
OK I'm writing to SIL since Ecuador now has got new, unified ortography
for all the dialects in Ecuador (Chimborazo, ,Cotopaxi, Bolívar,
Tungurahua, Imbabura, Cayambe, Loja, Azuay, Cañar, Salasaca, Napo and
Pastaza Quichua).

what before was written for example Ñucanchij huahuacuna now spells
Ñukanchik wawakuna, quite different-looking.

But still, I can only choose between Quechua (Bolivia, North) or
--South. (Openoffice)

Can qu_EC somehow be added as Kichwa (Ecuador) in the meantime?
