[Bug 392974] Re: package fwknop-server 1.9.10-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2009-09-02 Thread thialme
Hi,

It is not a bug in fwknop at all. I am almost sure it is due to modprobe
which spews messages to STDERR, such as:

WARNING: All config files need .conf ...

when loading the netfilter modules for the first time.

Could you do the following steps:

- Unload your netfilter/iptables modules
- Run the test_chainmgr.pl script
- Check for STDERR.

In my case, if STDERR contains the above warning message, it fails.
However, fixing the modprobe settings, it works fine. IPTables::ChainMgr
assumes an error occured if STDERR is not empty.

Regards,

[Bug 392974] Re: package fwknop-server 1.9.10-1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2009-08-30 Thread thialme
Hi,

I have been able to reproduce the problem on one of my computer. It does
not have any firewall setup, and I think it comes from this point. If I
remember, I saw a kernel message about loading a netfilter module.

I will look into the problem.

PS: please report bugs to the Debian BTS as well so I can easily track
them. and forward them upstream if needed.
