[Bug 454113] Re: digikam crashes when click on download selected
There is also digikam_1.0.0~rc-1 (release candidate) and the bug is fixed. Go to this url to download it for your system. http://packages.debian.org/sid/digikam. The package is for Debian _unstable_ sid, but works great. Just be sure to _only_ upgrade digikam and its requirements. Sid can also be added your software sources and then digikam installed with synaptic or aptitude, just deactivate it after digikam installation or it will want to update all your packages to development versions. If you only want digikam (2:1.0.0~beta6-1ubuntu2), bug has been fixed. It can be found at http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/digikam. Just choose your architecture and download the package or add lucid to your sources and you can use aptitude or synaptic. But same goes for this beta6 as for Sid. If you add it to your sources, _only_ upgrade digikam and its requirements unless you want _unstable_ system. -- digikam crashes when click on download selected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/454113 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to digikam in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs
[Bug 454113] Re: digikam crashes when click on download selected
This is exactly the kind of situation I was hoping to avoid by running Ubuntu. The Sid packages can't be installed cleanly without updating e.g. phonon to unstable, with the possible adverse consequences that may have on the stability of such a critical part of the system. Please, can we have digikam_1.0.0~rc-1 in karmic-updates? The bug is reported at least twice a day to upstream, and we owe them that we fix bugs in updates when we use betas, we're now taking resources away from development and into bug management. Digikam 1.0.0-beta6 is not yet released. Since this bug is rather serious (it has 25 duplicates in the KDE bug tracker) maybe one should ask the Digikam developers when they plan to release the next beta. If that is going to be a while, backporting the fix (if the appropriate commit can be identified) or even packaging an svn version would hopefully be an improvement over the currently packaged (beta5) version. -- digikam crashes when click on download selected https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/454113 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to digikam in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

I agree with you, but maybe there is an automatic update process and the new digikam will came shortly... but maybe somebody needs to package and upload it During the time for waiting for the new version beta6, there is a workaround : -instead of using the download selection, you can use drag and drop : select the photos you wanna transfer, and drag them onto the main window of digikam in the album you want.
