[Bug 574075] Re: winff avi fails ouput

2010-10-04 Thread Paul Gevers
@ punong_bisyonaryo: Sorry, but I can't do that. Some systems might not
be able to install libavcodec-extra because they didn't enable those
parts of Ubuntu, legal reasons I believe. You DO need libavcodec, but
that is installed as dependency of ffmpeg if you don't have libavcodec-
extra. Therefor, I can not make winff depend on that package, but it is
already in the suggests fields, as I believe is the appropriate
location.

[Bug 574075] Re: winff avi fails ouput

2010-10-03 Thread punong_bisyonaryo
With regards to the original problem, Unknown encoder 'libmp3lame'
also showed up on my system. However, after checking out the WinFF
website, learning that I needed libavcodec-extra-52 and installing it,
it worked fine.

I think that having libavcodec as a dependency will solve a lot of
problems in WinFF.

[Bug 574075] Re: winff avi fails ouput

2010-09-06 Thread Lonnie
WinFF doesn't work at all for me, and I have libavcodec-extra-52
installed.

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 64bit.

I add a few flv files and wanted to convert them to dvd. Upon selecting
a preset, no data propagates into the advanced window section. When I
hit the convert button, nothing happens. They fact that it doesn't
provide me any feedback what so ever is a bug of its own.

[Bug 574075] Re: winff avi fails ouput

2010-09-06 Thread Paul Gevers
@ Lonnie,

What do you mean by doesn't work at all. Do you get the same error
message as reported by the original reporter? If not, please fill a
separate bug report.

By the way, the settings are not supposed to propagate to the advanced
window (although that would be a great feature request).

Do you get any terminal screen pop-up? If no, what is the setting in the
menu Edit - Preferences - Linux tab - Terminal to run FFmeg
and Terminal Options? What do you get if you type the following line
in a terminal:

ls -al /etc/alternatives/x-terminal-emulator

[Bug 574075] Re: winff avi fails ouput

2010-05-03 Thread Paul Gevers
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information.

As described in the description of the package, for most presets to work
you need libavcodec-extra-52 (or libavcodec-unstripped-51 if you are
using intrepid). Did you install that?

Furthermore, we are missing the information about your system such as
which version of Ubuntu are you running and which version of winff do
you have installed. You can provide the information to this bug by
typing/pasting apport-bug -u 574075 in the window that you get by
pressing alt-f2 and following the instructions.

If the compilation does work, but the result is bad, a bug should be
reported (separately) against the ffmpeg package. Please use apport to
report bugs, so that we get information about your configuration (by
typing apport-bug -p winff in a console or in the window that you get
after pressing alt-f2).
