The latest development build appears to be the same as the release, 10-08.
The latest upstream kernel will have the same problem because the kernel is
built with CONFIG_SCSI_IPR disabled.

I just built the ubuntu kernel 2.6.35-22-powerpc64-smp from source only
changing config.common.ports: CONFIG_SCSI_IPR=m and had no build
failures. Not sure what was seen on 5-12, but I think the temporarily
part was forgotten and CONFIG_SCSI_IPR needs to be turned back on.

Note from dmesg above, my compiled kernel with CONFIG_SCSI_IPR booted as
