[Bug 669898] Re: network-manager applet fails to detect usb devices after update to Maverick
Hmm, are you only seeing delay? It's a known issue (same happens on my USB 3G modem). Not saying it shouldn't be fixed, but let's clarify that it's mostly just that ;) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/669898 Title: network-manager applet fails to detect usb devices after update to Maverick -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 669898] Re: network-manager applet fails to detect usb devices after update to Maverick
Hi, thanks for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please add some more information to this bug report? If you could include the USB ID of your USB modem, that would be great. You can get this with the 'lsusb' command. Thanks! ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete ** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low -- network-manager applet fails to detect usb devices after update to Maverick https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/669898 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 669898] Re: network-manager applet fails to detect usb devices after update to Maverick
Ok, I have added more details. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: network-manager Currently using Ubuntu 10.10 which was upgraded from 10.04 online. Package having problem : network-manager 0.8.1+git.20100810t184654.ab580f4-0ubuntu2 Description: When I was using Lucid, network manager applet automatically detected any usb modem devices and made it ready for connection. After upgrade to Maverick, sometimes the devices are not at all detected. Some times after a restart, when I plug the usb and wait for around five minutes, it gets detected. There are no problems in connecting. + + I tried using many devices. One Nokia E51, one Huawei EC1262 modem etc. All resulted the same. + this is what i got using lsusb for my Nokia E51. + as...@ashok-laptop:~$ lsusb + Bus 008 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub + Bus 007 Device 002: ID 15d9:0a4c Trust International B.V. + Bus 007 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub + Bus 006 Device 005: ID 0421:0042 Nokia Mobile Phones E51 (PC Suite mode) + Bus 006 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub + Bus 005 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub + Bus 004 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub + Bus 003 Device 009: ID 413c:8160 Dell Computer Corp. + Bus 003 Device 008: ID 413c:8162 Dell Computer Corp. + Bus 003 Device 007: ID 413c:8161 Dell Computer Corp. + Bus 003 Device 006: ID 0a5c:4500 Broadcom Corp.
