Gorka, the link is dead (or actually, the entire extensions part of www.openoffice.org seems to be down). But even if it would be there and your workaround would work, it's still bogus since this functionality should be included and working by default since LO 3.3. See http://www.libreoffice.org/features/extensions/ : Note that, in LibreOffice 3.3, many great extensions that were formerly separate downloads have now been included in the package as standard features: Presentation Minimizer: (not working on Ubuntu's version of LO) Presenter Console: (also not working on Ubuntu's version of LO). All this fooling around is taking too much time anyway - I've got work to do. So I'm just going to uninstall Ubuntu's version again and try the 3.4.4 packages from the website. I think I might have discovered the 'guilty' packages causing the controls of the Presenter Console not being displayed. At first, I was shocked to learn that even when I installed the packages from LO's website, the issue still remained. I then started looking (with the help of Synaptic) for any remaining packages which had any reference to libreoffice and which were coming from the Ubuntu repo's. Turns out that even while I expected to be rid of all LO packages when removing any package starting with 'libreoffice', there are still other packages which don't have 'libreoffice' in their name, but still influence the behaviour of LO (luckily this is mentioned in their description). The suspect here is the Libreoffice UNO runtime environment. While I have no idea what this means for me as a user if I don't have it installed, removing all packages related to this environment fixed the problem! Yes, the preseter-console from the repos does not work (with lo-menubar installed). Uninstalling it and installing http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/presenter-screen works fine after closing and opening Libreoffice. I'm a bit cautious though because I need LO to work flawlessly for my work. And since I finally managed to get the presenter plugin working again... I have the same experience as Rich, and no, the echo issue is not relevant. But the presenter console never shows up, even with an apparently correct installation. Update: Purging the LO presenter-console and installing the version from openoffice.org works. I had the same problem. My solution was: Unter Tools -- Extension Manager... the *SUN* presentation plugin was still enabled and installed. After uninstalling this plugin and installing libreoffice-presenter-console and libreoffice-officebean through apt-get install ... it worked. (Not sure if libreoffice-officebean is necessary, but don't like to mess around, because it works and i got a presentation later). For the presentation settings, I have choosen at Multiple displays Display 2 which is the beamer and the console starts automatically on my laptop display. The SUN presentation plugin was automacially installed and activated with the installation of Libre office. To uninstall openoffice, i used apt-get remove --purge openopffice*. So I'm pretty sure there was nothing left. Same here with latest Libreoffice and presenter-console from Repo on 10.04 1. I uninstalled Libreoffice and reinstalled Openoffice and presenter-console from Repo → its working. 2. Uninstall OpenOfice and reinstall Libreoffice with presenter-console from repo → nothing. 3. Uninstall presenter-console and installed extension from OpenOffice [1] → nothing. But it works without problems on LibreOffice with Ubuntu 10.10. I think #631034 is a duplicate. Now I'm a bit confused: After a reboot the presenter console works. Maybe it helps to sudo apt-get purge openoffice*.* to make a clean OpenOffice uninstall (i didnt this the first time - only made the partial Upgrade method. The second time i followed this post [1]). After reboot in installed libreoffice-officebean and afterwards I tried the presenter-console. But even after uninstallation of officebean the konsole keeps working. Hi Fabian, yes this is the setting I changed when I said I tryied to use internal or external monitor. I was using OOo presenter console on the same installation until today and it was working perfectly. I'm quite sure it's not a misconfiguration because I use this module since many years with OOo. If you want I can remove LibreOffice and trying OOo again.
