If the 'first_run' file not exists all works right. Protect the
directory for avoid a new creation. In the Terminal:
user@computer:~$ rm ~/.local/share/vinagre/first_run
user@computer:~$ chmod ug-w ~/.local/share/vinagre/

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers

Here’s what I found out so far:
When accessing vino on Ubuntu 10.04 from both vinagre on 10.04 and
11.04, I experience a problem with not all key presses being
transmitted. It seems not to be actually the case that a wrong keyboard
layout is applied, since the keys that are transmitted are
same here with tighvnc from a windows machine to 11.04, it works fine
with xfce4
