The above kernel let's me restart fine on a OptiPlex 790. (I previously had the issue and reboot=pci workaround worked) Oh, I also have this issue on a Fedora machine so it certainly would help to go upstream. Thanks! Hi Bryan, Thanks for testing and the feedback. I tried to send a similar patch upstream already for the Dell Latitude E6520 (see bug 833705) but received some push back from the maintainer regarding accepting any more of these types of quirk fixes. It appears upstream wants a more systematic approach. So in the mean time, I'll try submitting this to the Ubuntu kernel team to consider temporarily carrying this patch until a more systematic solution can be found which upstream will accept.
