I have the same issue with the latest 10.04 kernel, e1000e driver, and Intel
82578DC controller. When I switch on my system, it will boot and load e1000e,
but no eth* interface is present. Even repeated rmmod and modprobe don't bring
up the interface. After a reboot (i.e. no fresh power-up) it
