which is normal because the driver doesn't support opengl (only
opengl/es). try es2_info from mesa-utils-extra.

es2_info and es2gears both give me software rendering.
Also, there seems to be something wrong with video overlays, the Y
apears to be offset from the UV vertically by maybe 4 pixels...

Thanks. I tried installing it on my AC100, but it seems like some
kernel module is missing.
From Xorg.0.log:
[...]
[13.368] (II) LoadModule tegra
[13.603] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module tegra
[13.604] (II) UnloadModule tegra
[13.604] (II) Unloading tegra
[13.604] (EE)
Ok, my bad. It turns out that I had to create a symlink from
tegra_drv.so - tegra_dri.abi11.so since my Xorg uses video driver ABI
11.0...
Now the driver actually loads. I can't seem to get any GL going though;
both glxinfo and glxgears complain that there are no RGB visuals.

Oddly, there seems to be an nvidia-tegra driver compiled for hardfp out there,
as confirmed by Plagman who claims to represent Nvidia Corp.
See: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=2495420
The driver seems to be available to the Meego people for porting onto the
trimslice device:
Um, ok, so where is Nvidia's bugtracker then?

I think this is not a bug. Canonical cannot build a closed source Nvidia
driver for armel. You should ask nvidia for that. BTW I have Toshiba
ac100 and it would be awesome to have the driver for armhf.

I had a bit typo there. Canonical can't build closed source driver for
