It just started working by itself some time ago... I don't remember I did anything special maybe the system (ubuntu) updated some other packages and it solved it, I don't know. Bryan, Running gnome-keyring-manager and displaying the list of available keyrings shows two: default (bolded font) and session. Both of them appear to contain nothing and I have no idea how to manually add anything to them (if that's possible at all). NetworkManager stores network information in the gnome-keyring. There is a package called gnome-keyring-manager that includes the application gnome-keyring-manager that will allow you to view and edit keys. Your keyring is stored in ~/.gnome2/keyrings/ . It appears that you do not have the linux-restricted-modules installed. You need that package installed as there is a daemon in it that manages the ipw3945. If you are referring to the ipw3945d Regulatory daemon, then I have it and it's running - without it I can't have wireless. Like I said, I am running a compiled version of the kernel more suited to my system, and not the one that comes with Ubuntu, but I have wireless access and it works fine. Also, when I did the test of switching back to the kernel that comes with Ubuntu, the wireless worked, but NetworkManager still showed the same error.
