I can confirm that 15.10 does indeed come with ttf-indic-fonts. The fonts provided on Ubuntu 15.10 by default provides a suboptimal user experience for someone dealing with Indic content. These are VERY old fonts, and it is gross injustice to not include newer versions. The fix suggested seems
