Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v3.4kernel[1] (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag(Only that one tag, please leave the other tags). I tried to collect the desired info with the above command, but because I am not the orginal reporter Launchpad does not allow me to report The problem occurs however after the screen was locked (and shortly after unlocking, for instance if clicking with the mouse or changing to another workspace). The behavior is fairly unpredictable, with one common denominator: the display flickrs, and the GUI won't react anymore or very, very slowlly, and sooner or later stops completely. A hard reset of the machine is neccesary.
