after installation I cannont a2enmod auth_pam because the file

I fixed it by copying the file from the feisty backup.

I can confirm the bug. After setting CONCURRENCY=shell, HAL attempts to
initialise before DBus, causing an error. HAL starts fine manually after
boot up, and changing it's starting level fixes the problem as Andrea
mentioned above.

I can reproduce this bug on an ATi card (Radeon Xpress 1100) using
fglrx. I can also fix the bug by adding vesafb and fbcon to /etc
/initramfs-tools/modules, and commenting out the relevant lines in
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-framebuffer. As a result of this the splash
image does not display

It seems that using the keys to set the brightness leads to a temporary
change of brightness. There is some time out that then resets the
brightness to the level determined by the applet on the panel. I would
suggest this is an error not a feature. Is it deserving a new bug

Here's the xorg.conf file generated after clean ATI driver reinstall (although
I switched from comand line the catalyst install manager at some point) and
chosing PnP screen with 1400 (loads 1280).
Don't know where the 1600x1200 resolution comes from...

Sorry for my pleading... in a final attempt, I restarted my system
again. Restarting the services seems not to be enough. And now it works.
BUT, only if I do a printout from an application. If I use the Print
Test Page button, in the printer configuration, nothing happens. I had

What is the point in reporting errors year after year. For over a year the
people behind Ubuntu has been unable to get these HP printers to work As
a result I have tonally given up on Ubuntu

Newbie. Use to have sound in Edgy. Did not have in Feisty. I thought
Gutsy would fix but turns out no. Just starting to try out Ubuntu but
starting to get frustrated.
Installed latest Gutsy Live CD 10-18-2007 release
All volume levels in ALSA max. Non muted.

It looks like the -no-remote requirement might be by design.
