info about new workspaces ... I tried to use gconf-edit to fix this, and

Yes, the killall gnome-panel command released the process and the gnome-
panel came up smoothly and functioned well for a while, then again
freezing and stealing all the CPU. I think the bug is the same, my

Well, actually not ALL is working.
When I go to text mode with Ctrl-Alt-F3, I get a blank screen, and after about
7 seconds, monitor goes to economy mode (yellow light rather than green light).
No text at all. I was expecting this to be a different matter.
