Binary package hint: kile
Kile in Ubuntu 9.04 has a bug that makes it fail to insert one single
Chinese character like 的,你 or , and it makes Kile actually no use
in Chinese. This bug has been fixed in r940069 but Ubuntu 9.04 using

Can we fix this in Ubuntu 9.04?
There was some discussion on IRC regarding the problem, and that was the
instruction given back then. The issue is apparently somehow related to
a server having it's Ubuntu contents updated. I don't know if someone

My RAID is an nvidia fakeRAID:0.
In the end, I was forced to give up on the distro however.
The workaround I posted was fine until I tried an update-initramfs for
unrelated reasons which I don't remember clearly (the terror and rage
wiped my memory just like the update wiped my boot options).

I do have an Intrepid live-cd at home. I'll test with it and update tomorrow.

I noticed I can't ssh from my machine with wireless. Apparently, when using
wireless, I have a zero upload and a descent download rate equal to that on
wired connection.
On ethernet, there is no problem with upload. I can test the same router with
another laptop running Ubuntu 8.10 - no problem
