Hi,
in Windows closing the lid makes it going to sleep and opening the lid makes it
resuming.
I am using Ubuntu 13.10 on my Samsung Series 7 Chronos 700Z3A-S02DE. When I
close the lid the laptop suspends, but on lid open it does not resume until I
press the power button.

Update: testing an a workstation [start/destroy loop with 8 VMs], I was
able to hit the assertion error after ~250 iterations. With the new
libnetcf1 from precise-proposed [0.1.9-2ubuntu3.2] the test ran for over
1760 iterations w/o error.

In trying to start up Kleopatra I discovered that the self test failed.
It found 2 errors.
First, the GpgSM test failed as the library was complied without support
for gpgsm.
Second, the GpgConf test failed as the library was complied without
support for gpgconf.
I'm running Friday's daily build (3/14/2014), fully up to date as apt-
get update apt-get dist-upgrade yields nothing available, and I am
still having this issue. In fact out of 12 to 15 boots I only saw it
twice, but just not I had to reboot about 14 times to get a boot that
allowed me to log
Forgot to mention that clicking other items at the login screen often
times allows me to type in my password. Also, typo correction from above
comment - meant to say just NOW I had to reboot...

Booted it from a USB flash drive and installed the Broadcom STA, going
to Software Updates - Additional Drivers.
It worked great! Then I installed Ubuntu
Well sure that would almost work, except you are going to have to patch
gnome-menus rather than gnome-panel.
I don't really have time to work on gnome-flashback stuff, but would be
happy to review/sponsor patches.

Sorry, I did that quite hastily and could not revert back once the status
was changed.
Only thing that I wanted to confirm is that Timo Jyrinki's patch partially
worked for
me (using ubuntu 12.04 32 bit).

This patch is based on Andrew's mmiotrace. I saw a sequence of init that
I didn't see in other traces for working cards. Andrew -- would be
interesting if you could check it out and see if it helps. The algorithm
I came up with is insane --

On a fresh install, I can't open synaptic and every programs that need
root permissions.
Lubuntu software center opens, but he can't obtain root permissions if I
try to install something.
