Before pulling in the new firmware, I tried the upstream kernel per the

After the kernel update I was able to shutdown succesfully two times.

running on a production server, and I've got 63 files in this directory.

Wayland is now looking into this Dont know what they will do yet.In the
meantime I have found that if you insert (xhost si:localuser:root) into
start up applications it will work without having to do it in terminal
every time you start up.

After a little more digging, I came across the original reporter's
correspondence on the linux-ide mailing list which determined because
the adapter appears as a generic JMicron PCIe to PATA controller, it
couldn't be reliably whitelisted without affecting other devices with
the same controller.
So, specifically, the characters that I can not type are: ~ ^ ` ´ ¨
I insert tight accented characters in the accent character and then the
letter, but in LibreOffice, the letter with accent simply does not
appear.
I found that holding down the AltGr key on my keyboard I can type the
characters
