I've freshly installed Ubuntu Mate 20.04 on LENOVO_MT_81NX_BU_idea_FM_Yoga
S740-15IRH with the same problem. No sound no speakers. It seems the Realtek
codec driver is not able to configure the speaker for the system.

specifically on LibreOffice apps (Writer, Calc and Draw), not in any

I'm seeing the same behavior. Changing nvme0n1p3_crypt to
nvme1n1p3_crypt in /etc/crypttab (in the hope of aligning the naming
convention with the underlying NVME device files) and running:
# dmsetup rename nvme0n1p3_crypt nvme1n1p3_crypt
# update-initramfs -c -t -k all
# update-grub
# reboot

seems to work fine under BIOS, loopback loop does not appear to be using
up any more data.
It feels like a bug in EFI memory page allocation, which never get
released. And/or max_agglomerate implementation under EFI.
