No, this is not fixed in Karmic Koala. Just have upgraded to Karmic, but the (similar) problem still exists: the system hangs (freeze) after boot (mouse cursor doesn't moving, Num Lock doesn't work), so only hardware reset helps to reboot. P.S. The hardware is the same as above, using proprietary
