I've doing some experiments and here are the results:
This is not reproduced on clean installation of Ubuntu Karmic i386. The
package version is same, the steps are same, but works as expected. But,
on my Ubuntu Jaunty (x86_64) it is 100% reproducible. The
OK, can't reproduce on Ubuntu Karmic and even Jaunty with latest
updates:

existing system, but ubuntu live installer shows me only drive
partitions as targets for installation - no raid, no lvm volumes.

Yes, I have check my /etc/apt/sources.list for unofficial repositories.
There was none of them.
The problem was that I have used one of unofficial repository some time
before upgrading to 9.04. This repository contains more recent libgnutls
then 8.10 official repositories. After my experiments

when SQLConnect called several times. When pooling is disabled, all

No, this is not fixed in Karmic Koala. Just have upgraded to Karmic, but
the (similar) problem still exists: the system hangs (freeze) after boot
(mouse cursor doesn't moving, Num Lock doesn't work), so only hardware
reset helps to reboot.
P.S. The hardware is the same as above, using proprietary

The unicode web page (meta http-equiv=Content-Type
content=text/html; charset=utf-8) renders with unappropriate symbols
similar to wrong encoding selected. Manual selecting UTF-8 encoding
with menu View - Text Encoding - Other... did not

Still reproduced, so annoying... When pressing Alt+Fn, the action taken
place (Alt+F4 closes window, Alt-F2 opens Run dialog), but the
switching to the tty is appeared immidiately. Alt+F7 switches back to
the GUI.
