I have noticed this only happens after running a full screen application

Title:
Screen flashes
I have found that if I turn off the composter the flashing will go away.
So it is somewhere in the composter code. Using the alt-shift-F12 keys I
can toggle the flashing. It comes back as soon as I turn the composter
back on.

To manage
Public bug reported:
Steps to repeat.
1. empty drive install 17.10 and do all of the updates. Install the suggested
Nvidia driver.
2. reboot
3. command line type sudo do-release-upgrade -d
you will get the following errors:
Errors were encountered while processing:
libvtk6.3
Do you want to see /etc/lsb-release after 17.10 install and updates but
before I issue the sudo do-release-upgrade -d command or after I get the
failed install but before I issue the fix broken command?

I used a blank drive and installed 17.10 I then did all updates with no
other PPAs enabled besides the default Kubuntu ones. The driver
manager did ask if I wanted to use a propitiatory Nvidia driver and I
said yes and let it install the default Nvidia driver. I installed
nothing else. I
I have this problem. Everything works great with my two monitor setup

secondary monitor seems to wake up a couple of seconds faster) when I
click the application launcher, the screen opens up on my secondary
monitor. All
I have this issue, even my sound preferences change. I have my onboard
sound as default and after waking the monitors it defaults back to the
HDMI sound device.
