I can confirm the same bug still existing in Ubuntu 16.04. The i3-style notifications are present on Unity desktop even after uninstalling i3. As a sidenote, installing i3 also changes the login screen to use i3-style notifications. It would be aesthetically better if the login screen always used

[Bug 1691054] [NEW] Fujitsu-Siemens U9210: Headphone output stuck on low volume (fix included)

Public bug reported: On a stock installation, the headphone volume is stuck low and cannot be adjusted. It turns out that PulseAudio mutes the output "Speaker+LO" when headphones are inserted, which is against what we want. The problem can be fixed by modifying the section "Element Speaker+LO"
