The i8042.reset i8042.nomux trick worked for me.
There used to be a bullet-proof way of reproducing the problem, and that
was to connect or disconnect the charger before booting the system. That
no longer happens, so I guess we have a solution here.

I seem to be unable to help.
All my efforts at creating a Live USB stick with the new kernel fail,
and this is not because of the Kernel, it boots fine in a VirtualBox
(although two-finger scrolling stops working).

i'm pinging, i can see unicast packets reaching the computer i'm trying
ping, but the computer running broadcom-sta never sees any unicast
response packets directed to it. It does, however, receive multicast
