... the installer complained as if the usb key content was incorrect, the live
session seemed to
behave correctly, I tested the wifi and all the special keys s(sound,
backlight...)

I am quite late on this subject, but I found several points that that
may be relevant:
- I have two different laptops that have the same symptoms as descibed here:
one is a Toshiba Satellite T130-11U (more than 3 year old but still working)
the other is a Dell Inspiron 15 3521 (brand new)
