Just did a dist upgrade to 8.10 so this wasn't retested. Since no one
else has posted any follow ups, maybe the problem was just due to a
unique abnormality in my system config.
Unless I need to wipe and start fresh it's unlikely I'll have the time

borked when 8.10 upgrade came. Can't alter using NM gui (no password
prompt - says I don't have permission). Connectivity to ISP is fine,
but DNS doesn't work.

Mine was working in 8.10 this morning, but when I came home at night and
tried to connect to it, it started giving me problems, then I tried to
reinstall it after removing it and I now get the above errors...
What gives? This is a brand new installation of 8.10, not an upgrade.

After I upgraded from Gusty Gibbons (7.10) to Hardy Heron Alpha 1 (8.04)
I encountered a problem with installing it. I did the upgrade by “sudo
update-manager -d” It started out fine till a little way through it a
pop-up window told me that not all of the packages were
was filed. Also, I changed the theme from the default Human theme
around the same time this issue resolved itself.

I upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04...it seems like a old kernal is working but none
of the newer ones...

I have this problem too!
I'm using nis, if that helps at all. I can trash if I trash a file or
folder from my mounted remote home folder, but not any other disk,
whatever the filesystem (I have ext3, NTFS and FAT32.)

As the original poster of the bug, I should let you know that recent
updates (not sure which one) seemed to cure this problem, so there it's
probably not worth spending any time looking into it unless someone else
declares that they are having the same problem.

Session management is enabled.
When logging in to a new session, I expect all windows that were open
during the previous session to open on the same virtual desktop as in
