I can confirm that Ramundo's suggestion to move the /usr/share
/initramfs-tools/hooks/thermal file has worked for me in Intrepid
(2.6.27-10-generic), after hibernation the fan works again.

I tried to burn with Nero Linux 3.5 and oddly it works, so this probably
isn't a kernel bug after all but rather something to do with a common
backend to both Brasero and GnomeBaker which Nero apparently doesn't
use... any idea who this bug should be assigned to?

I've tried all nvidia drivers, including direct downloads from the
website. Nothing works. I haven't tried installing gdm and using that
instead, however. May be worth a shot.
Right now I'm using nouveau with experimental 3D support, which works
for basic things, but not for my OpenGL development
A definite workaround is to use gdm instead of lightdm, I just tested it
and it works, so this is a lightdm problem.

This happens for me, but neither of us is or ever was in the Audio
group. If my wife uses the computer and switches to her account, when I
switch back the sound is dead and I have to reboot.

Every second or third time the computer boots up, the shutdown icon is
missing, and my username appears twice. The date/time indicator is often
cut-off and unusable. Running pkill gnome-panel fixes it (for the
session).

Perhaps it was fixed for some, but I have:
nux-tools:
Installed: 0.9.46-0ubuntu4
...and the unity panel is stuck open, making my computer very hard to
use. All updates are current as of 23.4.2011, can't reboot atm because I
have too much work open.
