[Bug 1896378] [NEW] xubuntu kernel causes rectangular screen fluttering

Public bug reported: I had the same problem, exactly the same look with the latest kernel, of Xubuntu18 and also I tried UbuntuBudgie18, and both did the same. On my laptop (NC8000) the screen looks like someone has disrupted the pixels with little rectangular stuff. I had to go back a kernel via

OK, that seems to have worked with the apport, as far as I can tell. I tried it without first having logged on to Launchpad, via terminal and the apport command, which opened up the web browser asking me to log in, but then it couldn't send the apport, it seems. So I did the "apport-collect
