Oh, that was long ago...
Currently I'm using Ubuntu Hardy (8.04-Beta).
I reinstalled it, and found the following glitches:
- Close button of Info Window does not work
- Only seems to support 1 processor
I'm only installed it for a quick test and it does not show up the 100% load
by itself. But

I already installed that machine with US locale and do not have it around

well, it does, though I did not check if the freeze reoccurs after some
time, or if it is viable as a workaround for the complete session.

lightdm starts a syndameon instance which is not terminated upon session
startup.
So there is the conflict: two syndaemon instances, one from lightdm and one
from logged in user.
Just experienced this problem after going from gdm back to lightdm.
This does not happen with gdm.

when i select a artist only his albums show in the album list.
nevertheless when i move around the mouse pointer tooltip hints show up
from currently not visible albums of other artists. please see
screenshot attached.

I'm using
- virtualbox-ose-guest-source 2.0.4-dfsg-0ubuntu1
- virtualbox-ose-guest-urils 2.0.4-dfsg-0ubuntu1
The kernel modules seem to work fine.
But the X.org-ABI problem is still there.

Regression from Maverick. Never experienced that in Maverick.
Not critical, but very annoying and significantly slowing down my
Desktop work flow. Please fix.

Ok, I tested the new kernel with my X1600 Pro HDMI (1002:71c2 / 1002:71e2), but
it is still slow. I'm not sure, but I have the feeling, that it's faster than
the older kernel,
but I can be mistaken.
Currently I'm using options radeon modeset=0 to run a usable system...
