Compiz used to work great and never had a problem with speed in the
past. Upgraded to hardy and now firefox scrolls really slow and it seems
that rendering is quite a bit slower.
Not sure if it's related but when I run compiz --replace I get
it crashed and it reported it for me basically. It stopped after beta

when will they move to the new architecture? there was just an update to
compiz core and now rotation is broken again... I'd rather have it
working even if it is a hack, than to have it broken. Tom can you post
instructions to recompiling with your fix? TIA

Fix by tom fixes no refresh problem. Compiz then runs but not near as
fast. glxgears output normal aspect was 4340 frames in 5.0 seconds =
867.993 FPS and in rotated state was 595 frames in 5.0 seconds = 118.995
FPS.

I have just a couple comments about this.
I think it would be great to have a more informative share gui. It can
be very simple and have the ability to share will everyone (ie. no user
or pass needed) just like windows xp when you just enable file sharing.
Then it can have a users tab for

If the mx500 back and forward buttons is high importance then this is
critical. There are quite a few tablet users out there and most have
intel chipsets. If compiz is enabled by default on these systems and
rotate doesn't work this is major issue.

My display will dim automatically in a few minutes of idle time and when
i move my mouse it does not resume previous brightness setting. I have
tried turning dim on idle off but it still does it. I am running herd4

This stays 100% when using the brigtness buttons even though the meter
goes down. But will never go down below about 20%. When i open the power
managment preferences it changes however it goes back to 100% when i
close PMP.

This is almost the same on the p1610. It will go dim on idle then
brighten when i move the mouse or press keys. However it will not resume
previous brightness level it does not resume 100% brightness...

Steps to encounter the problem: set static ip in network-manager, used
computer then put into suspend mode. Next day I take out of suspend and
network is either not connected or says it's connected and isn't really.
can't ping anything.
Behavior expected. I expected it to save my static ip
