does this mean that the fix is released for out of the box saucy? or for saucy
with upgraded kernel? if latter, which kernel version do i need?

i'm seeing this in raring too (dual boot lenovo q190 with kernel 3.10 -
the only way to get realtek rtl8188 working).
i tried to replace nm-applet with wicd without success (managed to
screw up all networking by apt-get purging network-manager; restored it;
removed wicd; am back to nm-applet).

tried to solve the problem on precise working with @remus offline. couldn't
fix it, so i installed raring and kernel 3.10, and now wifi works. thanks a
million @remus.

i thought i had solved this by replacing precise with raring and
updating kernel to 3.10 (see #48 above and the thread leading to it).
unfortunately, it is not the case. the wifi connection drops constantly
and pops a login window, actually dozens and dozens of login windows
(see attached).
Semi-newbie here, with a q190, dual boot (win8 and precise), grub
working (finally!), wired working, WIFI NOT working.
I updated the kernel following these instructions :

1. I am not sure where to find this package and how to install it. There
isn't much out there on rtl8188 (there is a bunch of info on rtl8192,

@remus the package was already uinstalled and the directory is still not
there. happy to install manually (wget or whatever the process), but
need step by step instructions :-)
