I can confirm that this problem is fixed.
It still gives the error, but with the option to 'ignore and install'.
The only thing I don't get is why World of Goo for example never gave any
errors in previous Ubuntu releases.

Problem still exists on Feisty Fawn (this is an amd64 machine; previous
machine was i386). The ld.so.conf work-around mentioned above still
works (for the Python test case and for Newton Desktop Wiki). I didn't
test the RPATH fixes, but I suppose they should still work as well.

I've booted my machine into 9.10 and was able to successfully connect my
machine. No dma errors as far as I could see. In the past I managed to
establish a connection sometimes, but after a few minutes it always
disconnected. Or rather failed to transmit any data without actually
disconnecting.

cents. I would also like to see this feature. I find the minimise button
to be quite small and too close to the close button. It's easy to miss

with LaTeX, and the oversaturated colours only appeared when I included
images in my document. The workaround for my problem seems to be to
force Adobe Reader to use the right colorspace using the following hack:

Yes this bug remains an issue for me, the problem really is there is no
solution that works for everyone.
Just to recap the problem with these machines is that they have an
external HDMI encoder which is hooked up to the LVDS output of the GPU.

All I know is that with my laptop (Lenovo Yoga C940 14IL) i've got thesame
flickering as in that issue on Kubuntu 19.10, Kubuntu 20.04 and Fedora
There seems to be a known issue of i915 related screen flickering with
relation to power states, refresh rates and eDP for intel i915 in recent
kernels. (If i understand the issue correctly)

I tried getting a debug log of drm.i915 using "drm.debug=0x06" as a kernel
parameter.
In the log dmesg.txt there's a "hotplug event received" in batches, everytime
one of those appears, my screen flickers.

I tried Ubuntu 18.04 and that worked flawlessly.
Then I tried Kubuntu 18.04 and the flicker returns.
I don't know the important differences between these two distros in the

Still occurs on 5.4.0-31 update, only less severe. Laptop is useable now as
long as no video is being played.
By the looks of it, i915.enable_psr=0 as kernel boot parameter doesn't have any
notable effect.
