Nice work Vladimir! Based on this, I will have removed Today scope from this bug and made other top-level bug modifications. [Bug 1626180] Re: Today Scope not clickable after OTA-13
Kyle, I think I can to localize source of problem: It's "Desktop App Scope"!! So, what I did. 1. Today I tested many scopes: run them directly or set them as favorite -- everything is OK, even after rebooting. Even "Today Scope"! 2. But if I run "Desktop App Scope" then unity8-dash begins hanging. 3. If I set "Desktop App Scope" as favorite, then after rebooting problem (described by me as bug) is beginning with any first favorite scope!!! 4. So, about "Desktop App Scope". Just before arriving OTA-13 I put in my system update, which renamed Libertine scope into "Desktop App Scope" and made this scope empty! Perhaps, it's bug #1617545, described in there: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libertine-scope/+bug/1617545 But I decided to wait OTA-13 and did not use solution of this comments: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libertine-scope/+bug/1617545/comments/9 5. After OTA-13 installed, I've got the bug, described in the top of this theme. What do you think? What should I do with "Desktop App Scope"? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1626180 Title: Today Scope not clickable after OTA-13 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/today-scope/+bug/1626180/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1626180] Re: Today Scope not clickable after OTA-13
Vladimir: Great! I meant to write "Apps" not "Desktop Apps" :( That is: you get to Manage page from Apps (not from Desktop Apps). Sorry about that typo. Anyway, it does *seem* that the problem is not caused by Today scope. Let's continue and check if favoriting other scopes causes the same unity8-dash cpu high usage. So: - reset favorites as shown above. - restart unity8-dash - favorite some other scope. maybe bbc - check unity8-dash cpu utilization Regarding the blue progress bar wiggling at the bottom which you say never stops, it may be that unity8 (or some part of it) has indeed died/frozen but the qml animiation just carries on forever...

Hi Vladimir: I'd like to see if we can rule out the Today scope as the cause of unity8-dash high CPU utilization. So: Swipe up from the bottom of the Desktop Apps scope to see the scopes Manage page. Ensure your day scope is NOT a favorite. HOW: favorited scopes are listed in a special section at the top. (Only favorited scopes are available for swiping through.) If the scope is NOT a favorite then the scope's star icon on the right on the Manage page is not solid black (it is a star made of lines). If it is a favorite then the star icon is solid black. After doing this, the Today scope is not a favorite AND it is not currently loaded & running. Now, check the the unity8-dash cpu utilization. -> is it low or still ridiculously high? Restart unity8-dash (and don't launch today scope from the Manage page). Again, check the the unity8-dash cpu utilization. -> is it low or still ridiculously high? If in both cases the unity8-dash CPU utlization is very high, then I think we can definitively rule out the today scope as the cause.

Vladimir: regarding your comment #36. If the blue progress bar is going back and forth at the bottom of the today scope, it means it has not completed. if this continues for about 40 seconds, it should then stop automatically (all scopes do - they time out).
