I experienced the same issue on my XPS 9560 running a fresh install of Ubuntu 16.04 If I used either prime-select intel or switching it in nvidia-settings, I would end up unable to get a display. I am using 384.9 NVIDIA driver. I have not found a viable work around -- You received this bug
