I was able to get the mousepad working with the last kernel you posted.
However, the touchscreen is not working. Mousepad shows up as "Elan Touchpad"

I'm also having this problem.
Touchpad mostly works in the Basic setting in BIOS/UEFI, but when I'm on
Advanced, the touchpad doesn't even show up in xinput.

I tested my laptop with the upstream kernel 4.10 and it does not
recognize my touchpad. Please see attached screen shot I captured during
the install. It indicates an error with the Elantech ps mouse / touchpad
